Setra 500 Barcode Scanner
Part No. 409676 — $1,051
The Setra 500 barcode scanner makes counting faster, smarter, and virtually error-free. Operators can instantly scan a part barcode to recall data or begin a new count—no manual entry required. Its high-speed CCD technology captures codes from up to 200 mm away, even in bright lighting, while the lightweight body and ergonomic grip make all-day operation comfortable.
Built for industrial use, the scanner survives repeated 1.5 m drops onto concrete and resists dust and debris. Connects directly to the Easy Count via RS-232, transforming the scale into an intelligent, data-driven counting system that saves time and eliminates rework.
ScriptCoder Label Printing Program Kit
Part No. 404910 — $290
The ScriptCoder software and cable kit unlocks the full power of the Quick Count’s RS-232 interface. Operators can design and print custom labels directly from the scale — including barcodes, part IDs, and date or lot codes — without needing a PC or external software.
Internal Battery Kit
Part No. 404620 — $155
The internal 12V battery option converts the Quick Count into a portable counting station, offering up to 24 hours of cordless operation.
RS-232 Straight Cable (DB9 Female)
Part No. 409901 — $81
Used for direct PC or printer connections where both devices are stationary.
RS-232 Crossed Cable (DB9 Female)
Part No. 404772 — $81
Designed for connecting two devices that require reversed pin configuration.
RS-232 Shielded Coiled Cable
Part No. 409616R — $144
Flexible coiled cable ideal for setups where movement is required between printer, scanner, or PC.
Why Setra Scale
When precision and process reliability matter, Setra counting scales deliver more than just weight readings - they deliver measurable savings across your entire inventory operation.
Built for professional, high-accuracy environments, every Setra scale is engineered to eliminate common sources of counting error and transform your counting process into a consistent, traceable workflow.
Engineered for Accuracy You Can Trust
Setra’s counting technology is designed from the ground up to control every major source of counting error - including part weight variation, operator judgment, and environmental interference.
Each scale is calibrated to deliver repeatable accuracy of 98 to 99.5 percent, depending on the sample size, even when counting small components or mixed materials.
In a practical sense, this means a box of 10,000 parts that might vary by 200 pieces on a generic scale can be narrowed to fewer than 50 pieces variance on a Setra. Advanced internal filtering compensates for vibration or air movement, ensuring stable readings in real production environments.
Precision load cells maintain resolution across wide capacity ranges - from small electronic components weighing fractions of a gram to heavy fasteners exceeding 50 pounds.
Eliminates Costly Counting Errors
Generic counting scales often rely on the operator to decide how many pieces to sample, which introduces inconsistent averages and frequent miscounts. Setra prevents these mistakes automatically by enforcing a minimum sample weight before accepting a reading.
For example, if a receiving operator samples too few washers or bearings, the Setra scale will prompt for additional pieces until an accurate average is achieved. This safeguard eliminates under-sampling and miscounts that commonly cause stock discrepancies.
Companies using Setra counting scales report up to a 75 percent reduction in manual recounts and audit corrections, directly translating into fewer shipping errors and more reliable part verification during receiving and order fulfillment.
Proven Cost and Labor Savings
Setra counting systems are proven to reduce manual counting labor by 30 to 50 percent across common industrial applications. By eliminating repetitive sampling and re-verification steps, a warehouse that previously required two operators to count 50 batches per shift can complete the same volume with one operator and still maintain higher accuracy.
One electronics manufacturer reduced its weekly physical count time from 12 hours to less than 6 simply by replacing generic counters with Setra units. The improved accuracy also allowed them to lower stocking levels by 10 percent without increasing the risk of shortages.
Across most facilities, these efficiency gains quickly offset the higher investment cost of a Setra scale.
Built for Industrial Performance
Unlike light-duty counting scales designed for retail or laboratory use, Setra units are built for continuous operation in demanding environments such as manufacturing plants, stockrooms, and assembly lines.
Their rugged design withstands vibration from nearby conveyors or forklifts, and the internal signal filtering ensures accuracy even with fans, air vents, or open dock doors present. Setra’s anti-vibration platform and solid metal housing protect the load cell from environmental noise, allowing stable readings where cheaper plastic-bodied scales fail.
This makes them ideal for applications such as fastener distribution, machine parts kitting, and component packaging, where environmental conditions are never ideal but accuracy is critical.
Data-Driven Accuracy and Traceability
Each Setra counting scale is designed to create and maintain an accurate average piece weight (APW) record that can be used across multiple departments. In practice, this means the APW determined during receiving can be reused during picking or cycle counting without the need to re-sample.
This not only saves time but ensures traceability across the entire workflow. For example, a parts label printed at receiving can be scanned later in production or shipping to instantly load the verified APW into the scale, eliminating human error and ensuring count consistency.
This feature also supports ISO-compliant quality control systems that require documented verification of measurement accuracy.
The Setra Advantage
When compared to standard or low-cost counting scales, Setra provides a measurable operational advantage. Greater accuracy leads to fewer inventory losses - often worth thousands of dollars annually in reduced adjustments and write-offs.
Less rework means lower labor cost and faster throughput. Consistent results across multiple operators and shifts lead to better process control. And industrial durability means fewer replacements and downtime.
Facilities that use Setra counting scales typically experience measurable operational savings through reduced manual labor, improved count reliability, and fewer inventory discrepancies.
Setra isn’t just a scale - it’s a system for continuous accuracy, accountability, and long-term operational efficiency.
