Warranty
At Titan Scale USA, we stand behind the quality of every product we sell. However, please note that warranty coverage is provided directly by the manufacturer, in this case Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Company, and is subject to their specific terms and conditions outlined below.
If you purchased a Cardinal Scale product from us, you are covered under Cardinal’s manufacturer warranty, not a Titan Scale USA warranty.
Warranty Overview
Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Company warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship. Coverage terms vary depending on the product type.
Key Conditions of Warranty Coverage
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the product. The warranty period begins on the date of shipment from Cardinal Scale. Equipment must be installed and continuously maintained by an authorized Cardinal or Belt-Way dealer. It must also be properly grounded in accordance with Cardinal’s specifications.
The warranty becomes void if the equipment has been tampered with, defaced, or modified without Cardinal’s written approval, or if the serial number is missing, altered, or illegible.
Damage occurring during transit is not covered by the warranty. Claims for transit damage must be filed directly with the shipping carrier.
Warranty Coverage by Product Type
Hydraulic load cells include a lifetime limited warranty for damage caused by water, lightning, and voltage surges. This applies only to the hydraulic load cell structure itself and does not include pressure transducers, rubber seals, o-rings, or wiring. These load cells also carry a 10-year prorated warranty.
Scale structures are covered by a 1-year warranty.
Components constructed from stainless steel are covered under warranty.
Devices must be rated NEMA 4 or higher, or have an equivalent IP rating, to qualify for coverage.
For PSC models, warranty coverage applies only to agricultural installations on farms of up to 3,000 acres. LSC models are not subject to this acreage limitation.
Load cell kits must be installed in strict accordance with Cardinal Scale’s installation instructions. Failure to follow these instructions will void the warranty.
Warranty Exclusions
The following items and conditions are not covered under this warranty:
Consumables and expendable parts, or any product damage caused by abuse, improper voltage, overloading, theft, fire, water, prolonged storage or exposure while in the purchaser’s possession, or acts of God.
Peripheral equipment not manufactured by Cardinal is not covered. These items are typically covered by the original equipment manufacturer’s warranty.
Consequential damages, such as loss of profit, delays, or additional expenses, are not covered. Cardinal’s liability is limited to the specific terms of this warranty.
This warranty replaces all other express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. It applies only to products installed within the 48 contiguous United States and Canada.
Paint and surface coatings are excluded due to environmental variability.
Do not cut load cell cables before returning a product for warranty or credit, as doing so will void the warranty.
Software is warranted only for performing the functions described in the software manual or Cardinal’s proposal. The software warranty does not cover hardware. Any hardware-related coverage is provided by the hardware vendor.
The software warranty does not apply to integration issues involving third-party hardware.
Software upgrades are not included unless purchased separately.
